In the next few days, “Servant of the People” will meet to solve the problem with Dubinsky

The deputy head of the president’s office, Kirill Tymoshenko, did not rule out that MP Oleksandr Dubinsky, who was expelled from the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, would be removed from his post as head of the Kiev regional party cell.

Party “Servant of the People” in the coming days will meet on the issue relating to the head of the Kiev regional cell of the political force. The deputy head of the President’s office Kirill Tymoshenko spoke about this during the publicity block for Savik Shuster’s Freedom of Speech program, which is broadcast on the Ukraine channel and on the online YouTube channel Shuster.

The journalist clarified whether Dubinsky could be replaced as head of the party cell.

“As I understand it, there is a question about this, and therefore the group will meet,” Tymoshenko replied.

On January 1, the United States imposed sanctions on Dubinsky for attempting to interfere in the US presidential elections. The US Treasury said Dubinsky, as well as former prosecutor in the Office of the Attorney General of Ukraine Konstantin Kulik, a fugitive businessman, former People’s Deputy Oleksandr Onishchenko, a former Ukrainian diplomat and political scientist Andriy Telizhenko are associated with Derkach, against who Sanctions were imposed in September 2020. Dubinsky himself denies any connection to Derkach and tries to influence the American elections.

After the introduction of sanctions, the National Bank of Ukraine warned banks about the risks of cooperation with Dubinsky, their YouTube channel was blocked.

A meeting of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction was held on January 25, 2021, in which the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, offered Dubinsky to withdraw, but he did not agree.

On February 1, the deputies of the Servant of the People voted to expel Dubinsky from the faction. The next day, at a parliamentary meeting, this was officially announced by the president of the Verkhovna Rada Dmitry Razumkov.
