Ukraine has weathered the economic crisis as the mildest of all European countries, the prime minister said.

This was announced on Wednesday, February 10, by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal during an online meeting with the director general of the Confederation of European Companies, Marcus Beyrer.

“Data from the European Business Association also indicates that Ukraine passed the economic crisis as the mildest of all European countries. We lost only 4.5% of GDP. This year, according to forecasts, the growth of the Ukrainian economy will be more than 4.6%, “said the prime minister. …

He added that Ukraine’s economic strategy is designed to attract business investment. To do this, the country is developing work priorities until 2030.

“Today we have identified the key priorities of the strategy. Among them are European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Rule of law, protection of private property, gender equality and zero tolerance for corruption. Economic freedom: fair competition, level playing field for companies and free movement of capital. Institutional capacity. “- Shmygal said.

He also expressed to representatives of European companies five key directions of NES-2030, which are fundamental for companies and investors:

  • Rule of law,

  • investment appeal,

  • “green course”,

  • development of small and medium enterprises,

  • digitization.

Shmyhal noted that Ukraine’s economic development strategy will also focus on expanding domestic demand for industrial products, developing the agricultural sector, introducing public-private partnerships, and processing agricultural raw materials.

Note that today Shmygal started a discussion with the Vice President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, on the liberalization of trade between Ukraine and the EU.
