The reason for this decision was the falsification of the parliamentary elections, which took place in November, and the victory in which, according to them, was illegally won by the ruling NLD party, representatives of the Supreme Council explained.

It was reported that a military mutiny broke out in Mali in August. Army units, which were located in the suburbs of the capital Bamako, rebelled. The military demanded the resignation of President Ibrahim Boubacar Keith.
