On Saturday, January 30, in Duszniki-Zdroj, Poland, the men’s pursuit race took place as part of the 2021 European Biathlon Championships. The victory in the race was won by the 33-year-old Ukrainian biathlete Artem Prima, who for the first once in his career he won a persuit in the European Championship.

Artem had to watch the penalty loop three times, but at the same time, he once again made me happy with his good speed. At the last shooting range, absolutely all the leaders made mistakes, so Prima and Czech Michal Krchmarzh, after a failure, played gold and silver against each other on the last lap.

Krchmarzh missed the start of the season due to a positive test for coronavirus and is therefore not in the best functional readiness so far. But this in no way diminishes the merits of Prima! He broke away from his opponent and confidently won the long-awaited medal!

Prima earned her only personal victory to date at the 2011 European Championship in Ridnow, Italy, in the individual race. Ten years later, he won gold in the quest for the first time! Krchmarzh finished second and Norway’s Haward Bogetveit took the bronze medal.

Two more Ukrainians, who participated in this race, were also satisfied. Bogdan Tsymbal and Artem Tishchenko improved their starting positions: the former finished 17th with two penalties, and Tishchenko shot perfectly and took 21st place.

Race results:

one. Artem Prima (1 + 0 + 1 + 1) 32: 11.3
2. Michal Krcmarz (0 + 0 + 0 + 1) +6.6
3. Howard Bogetwate (0 + 0 + 1 + 2) +12.5

17. Bogdan Tsymbal (1 + 0 + 0 + 1) +1: 08.6
twenty-one. Artem Tishchenko (0 + 0 + 0 + 0) +1: 14.3
