President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decree No. 38/2021 on the appointment of the head of the Cherkasy region. The regional state administration was headed by the people’s deputy Alexander Skichko.
This was announced by the Office of the President.
Zelensky today met personally with Skichko and presented him with a certificate.
“Building roads, attracting investment and improving people’s well-being is all that the residents of the Cherkasy region need,” said the head of state.
Who is Alexander Skichko?
Alexander Skichko is a former showman and people’s deputy of the “Servant of the People”. He was born on April 28, 1991 in Cherkasy. Graduated from the Faculty of International Economics of the Kiev Economic University.
He worked as a presenter on Ukrainian television. In 2017, he was the host of the ceremony of the first national film award “Golden Dziga” and one of the main hosts of the Eurovision Song Contest.
In 2019, Skichko became a people’s deputy of Ukraine.
Recall that Skichko’s candidacy was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers for the post of head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration on January 20. However, the residual decision was made by the president.
As RBC-Ukraine wrote, the former head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration, Sergei Sergiychuk, was fired on December 29. Sergiychuk himself requested his resignation after four months in office.
