Several hundred trucks and buses got stuck in snowdrifts on the M-05 motorway, traffic in the direction of Kiev is closed.
Due to prolonged snowfall, a 30-kilometer traffic jam has formed on the M-05 Kiev-Odessa motorway. This was announced on Friday, January 29, by the press service of the State Emergency Service.
It is noted that traffic problems are observed on the section of the Znamenka-Revova highway. The passage is provided only in two lanes in the direction of Odessa.
“Snowdrifts with a length of about 30 km are observed, in which up to 300 large vehicles are blocked, traffic in the direction of Kiev is closed,” rescuers said.
This site employs 24 team units and 43 people.
Rescuers also added that in the Odessa region the movement of trucks is prohibited on the M-15 Odessa-Reni and M-16 Odessa-Kuchurgan roads of national importance and on all roads of local importance. In addition, a restriction on the movement of trucks and buses was introduced in the Nikolaev region on the M-13 Kropyvnytsky-Platonovo highway.
The State Emergency Service added that last night in Nikolayevshchina more than 50 cars were released from snow captivity, including three ambulances, 111 people were assisted.
