Six stations, including Kiev, are being prepared for concession in Ukraine. This can help develop these objects and get transparent results from them.
Infrastructure Minister Vladislav Krikliy spoke about this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, the transfer of the stations to the concession may make the facilities unprofitable.
“Most likely it will be, as our partner the World Bank, IFC, recommends to us in a 1 + 1 format: that is, a large station and a smaller station. Then we can find a strategic dealer who is interested in a large station. additional burden “, – he explained.
According to Krikliya, this will start this year and the concession tenders will be launched.
“Now we are planning a train station for Kiev and Vinnitsa. Then we have Nikolaev, Dnipro, Kharkov and Chop. As for these objects, we are still studying the best way to assemble them in this 1 + 1 format. Perhaps Chop will pair with Lviv , because it is more logical given the location, “he said.
The minister also explained why state airports are not transferred to the concession. According to him, Ukraine would not like to give them away cheaply.
“For this reason, in those concession projects, state airports, we paused until the period when aviation was restored. As for the regional airports, which are on the balance sheet of the regional councils, there is a different situation. They have yet to find some permanent strategic partner, ”he said.
Let us remind you that the Cabinet of Ministers supported the bill, which provides for the attraction of private investors to the Ukrainian road market. The project proposes appropriate changes to the Budget Code.
Note that in June last year, the Kherson seaport was transferred to the concession.
