Gas production in Ukraine continues to decline
Last year, the average daily gas production exceeded 55 million cubic meters and on January 20 it fell below 52 million cubic meters.
Last week (January 20), daily gas production in Ukraine fell to 51.6 million cubic meters, the lowest since March 2016 (49.5 million cubic meters). This is stated in the report of the Ukraine GTS operator.
Production fell 4% (2.3 million cubic meters) compared to the previous day. Overall, on January 20 gas production was 7% (3.7 million cubic meters) less than the average daily rate in 2020.
At the same time, on January 23, daily gas production rose to 54.1 million cubic meters.
Recall that in 2020, Ukrainian companies produced 20.2 billion cubic meters of gas, 2% (415 million cubic meters) less than the previous year. Production has been declining for two years in a row (in 2019, gas production in Ukraine fell 1.4%) to 20.7 billion cubic meters.
