The names of all those who died in the burning of a nursing home in Kharkov were announced.

Nine women and six men were killed in a fire at an illegal nursing home in Kharkov.

On January 22, on the air of the talk show “Savik Shuster’s Freedom of Expression”, the names of the 15 people who died on January 21 in Kharkov during a fire in a private institution for the elderly were announced.

Among them, nine are women (the age of two of them has not yet been identified) and six are men.

  2. Vera Sergeevna Zvyagintseva, 83 years old;
  3. Lyubov Alekseevna Orishchenko, 82 years old;
  4. Galina Mikhailovna Mandrigel, 70 years old;
  5. Anna Ivanovna Dmitrenko, 71 years old;
  6. Irina Semyonovna Palant, 85 years old;
  7. Lyubov Fedorovna Postovnaya, 80 years old;
  8. Georgy Mikhailovich Martynenko, 79 years old;
  9. Pavel Ivanovich Davidenko, 74 years old;
  10. Fedor Ivanovich Grobov, 78 years old;
  11. Viktor Semenovich Panin, 80 years old;
  12. Nikolay Anatolyevich Chernov, 74 years old;
  13. Fedor Viktorovich Telegun, 91 years old;
  14. Elena Pesina (age is being established);
  15. Olga Yurchenko (age is being established).

On January 21, a fire broke out in a two-story residential building in Kharkov. According to the Interior Ministry, there were 33 people in the house, 15 of them died, all the victims were on the second floor of the building. Five victims, between 57 and 81 years old, were also hospitalized.

It turned out that the pension was working without the proper documents, it was arranged in a private house. It turned out that the institution was not only operating illegally, but was also illegally connected to public services.

Regarding the fact of the fire, the police initiated a criminal process under art. 270 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The State Bureau of Investigation has opened proceedings for possible official negligence on the part of employees of the State Emergency Service (GSChS).

Investigators are checking three versions of the causes of the fire: arson, careless handling of fire in everyday life and electrical appliances, and a short circuit.

As part of the investigation, the owner of the house, the tenant and his wife, as well as the administrator of the establishment, were arrested. The four detainees were declared suspected of having violated fire safety regulations.

According to the State Emergency Service, in the Kharkiv region, 118 private facilities for the maintenance of the elderly are being checked; only three are officially registered in the region.

January 23 is declared a day of mourning in Ukraine.
