The Cabinet of Ministers raised the salaries of state employees in 2021 by 30%
The salaries of public sector employees were increased due to the increase in the minimum wage, the government explained.
The Cabinet has increased the salaries of public sector employees in connection with the increase in the minimum wage in Ukraine. The resolution was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers in a meeting on Wednesday, January 20.
As of January 1, 2021, official salaries (rates) of employees of institutions, establishments and organizations of certain branches of the budgetary sphere are calculated based on the size of the official salary (rate) of an employee of the first category UTS tariff – UAH 2,670, and from December 1, 2021 – 2 893 hryvnia.
At the moment, the salary of an employee of the first tariff category is 2225 hryvnia. Thus, in 2021, the salary will grow by 30%.
The explanatory note of the project says that as of September 1, 2020, the ratio between the official salary of an employee of the first tariff category (2225 UAH) and the minimum salary (5000 UAH) is 44.5%.
“To avoid an increase in the monetary gap between the official salary (tariff rate) of an employee of the first tariff category and the size of the minimum wage in 2021 (from 01.01.2021 – 6,000 UAH, from 01.12.2021 – 6,500 UAH), the size of the official salary (tariff) of an employee of the 1st tariff category, on the basis of which official salaries are calculated for all tariff categories of the UTS, requires a proportional revision ”, says the document.
Recall that previous wage arrears in Ukraine decreased by 18%. The largest debt was paid in the Donetsk region.
It was also reported that since January, teacher salaries have increased by 20%. Teachers’ salaries will increase by 20% from January and another 8.4% from December. The education budget grew by 26.6 billion UAH.
