The Council of Ministers decided to limit the price of gas due to the risk of an even greater increase in rates. In February, the price of gas can rise another 10-20%.

This was stated by the head of the profile committee of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Gerus, according to the material of RBC-Ukraine “They press the gas. Why the Cabinet of Ministers reduces tariffs and how it threatens.”

“And here the problem is not even in the January prices. The fact is that even now the wholesale price has risen higher than at the end of December. That is, now Naftogaz must raise the price to at least 8 hryvnia per cubic meter. and gas sales at 11-12 hryvnia. If nothing is done, in February the price will be another 10-20% higher, “explained Andrei Gerus.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has developed a draft decision to limit gas prices for the population. It is proposed to fix the gas price at a maximum of 6.99 UAH from February 1, 2021. The corresponding resolution is at the disposal of RBC-Ukraine.

Note that Naftogaz from Ukraine announced that it is ready to provide natural gas to domestic consumers at an adjustable price of 6.99 UAH per cubic meter until the end of the quarantine or heating season.
