People’s deputies don’t mind reducing

The presidential initiative to reduce the composition of the Verkhovna Rada received support in the profile committee.

The Legal Policy Committee of the Verkhovna Rada has recommended that the parliament adopt as a whole a bill to reduce the parliament from 450 to 300 people’s deputies. 17 of the 22 popular deputies – members of the commission – voted for the corresponding decision. This was announced on Thursday, January 14, by the Chesno movement.

It should be noted that the approval of the bill by the Verkhovna Rada as a whole requires a constitutional majority – 300 votes.

Recall that the survey included a reduction in the number of popular deputies to 300 5 questions from the president, which took place in the fall of 2020.

It was later reported that more than 80% of Ukrainians ignored Zelensky’s poll, which was carried out simultaneously with local elections.
