Published satellite photos of Nevada Spain

The Iberian Peninsula was hit by the heaviest snowfall in half a century, brought there by the Filomena storm.

The European Space Agency ESA has shown in satellite images what snowy Spain looks like from space. The photos are published on the ESA website.

With the help of two Sentinel-3 satellites from the Copernicus program, images were taken of the snowy Iberian Peninsula and Madrid.

The photo of Spain was taken on January 12, the photo of Madrid was taken the next day, three days after the heaviest snowfall in half a century, which brought storm Philomena to the peninsula.

Recall that a snow storm hit Spain, whose victims were three people. This is the worst storm in half a century.

It was also reported that in Spain, the cold storm Filomena caused a record cold wave, in two provinces that night the temperature dropped below -25 degrees Celsius.
