President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers on the increase in gas rates for the population. The head of state ordered the government to urgently solve this problem.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, Acting Energy Minister Yuriy Vitrenko, Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko, Social Policy Minister Marina Lazebnaya, as well as representatives of the OP.
“Gas tariffs for the population should be fair. The price of gas is growing in the market due to weather conditions and other reasons that have developed in Europe, and we cannot afford an increase in prices for our citizens”, emphasized the president.
The Cabinet of Ministers, in a meeting with the head of state, said that they are preparing systemic solutions to build a balance in the energy market, and also presented a blueprint for a significant reduction in gas rates and the setting of a fair price for the consumer.
“The decisions that were discussed at the energy meeting also foresee the preservation of macro-financial stability, the development of fair competition in the market and will help to avoid financial imbalance,” added the OP’s press service.
Recall, in a number of cities in Ukraine went to protest against the increase in gas rates. Protesters block roads and gather under government buildings.
As RBC-Ukraine wrote, Servant of the People reacted to the “tariff protests”. The mono-majority promised to prepare an anti-crisis plan.
