The guests did not have the initiative at the start of the reporters’ meeting, which was quite convenient for their rivals in terms of their ability to control the course of the fight, but the “red bulls” themselves were far from their optimal condition. Unfortunately, we were forced to talk about a single shot on goal by the home team, while the guests only cautiously looked at the entrances to someone else’s penalty area.
But even in such conditions, Axel Witsel managed to find a place for the damage, who unsuccessfully stumbled into the left corner of Gulachi’s possessions. The Belgian had to be changed, and as they helped him, even the smallest wick of the players vanished. Nagelsmann’s team outperformed its rivals in every respect, but could not create a decisive advantage.
After the break, the situation changed to the opposite. Now Dortmund had the threads of the game in their hands, and Leizpzig was forced to show defensive work. Moments outside Gulachi rained in much greater quantities than the home team created during the first half. Royce was the first to check the reaction of the rival goalkeeper and began to create more for his teammates. The first recipient of his assistance was Jadon Sancho in the 54th minute. It was difficult to stop Dortmund after their success. From the point of view of the winner of the duel, the main attack force of the guests decided the issues six minutes before the end of regulation time. An ingenious pass from Royce to the back to the center-backs was completed with a jerk with the ball past the goalkeeper, with the final blow to the empty goal. Serlot before the start of injury time managed to score a return goal for RB Leipzig, pushing the ball into Bürki’s goal on the second attempt, but this episode only softened the painful slap in the face of Nagelsmann’s team.
