The mayor trusts that the regional authorities will introduce the quarantine in the city as of January 11. He added that the police are fining the businessmen and are going to open production to the directors and teachers of the schools.
Ternopil Mayor Serhiy Nadal said police are massively fining businessmen for failing to observe quarantine restrictions. According to the mayor, the authorities are forcing the city to close. Nadal wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“We are forced to close the city. The central government once again did not listen to Ternopil’s opinion. And, despite the decision of the municipal commission on technological and environmental security and emergency situations, the police began to massively fine people entrepreneurs, “Nadal said on the social network.
He added that there is a decrease in the incidence of coronavirus in the city: “The number of patients diagnosed from January 8 to 36, from January 9 to 27. These figures are much lower than, for example, in the fall.”
According to the mayor, law enforcement officers are going to “install cordons near schools” so that children cannot enter educational institutions. And cases will be opened against principals and teachers.
“I do not exclude that cases may also be opened against members of the municipal commission on emergency situations, department employees. This pressure and intimidation methods, which were used during Yanukovych’s time. I want to declare that no one will fight the police in Ternopil. I have the right to risk people and the city, “said Sergei Nadal.
He added that an emergency meeting of the regional commission on emergency situations will be held soon in the Ternopil regional state administration.
“It is very likely that they will cancel the decision of the municipal commission and still introduce a closure in Ternopil as of January 11,” said the mayor.
We will recall, previously, the city authorities refused to introduce quarantine in Ternopil. It was planned to continue training in all of them, and business entities were advised not to stop their entrepreneurial activity.
The mayor of Cherkassy also spoke about strengthening the quarantine from January 8 to 24.
