The water intake facilities on the lake shore were dismantled

A month after the start of the drainage, the lake’s water supply ran out, although the authorities intended to pump a million cubic meters. The newly laid pipes were dismantled.

The Crimean authorities were forced to stop the extraction of water from the lake at the Inkerman quarry near Sevastopol, which started in November, because the water ran out. This was reported on January 4 by the Krym.Realii issue.

It is noted that the water intake facilities on the shore of the lake were dismantled. Some of the pipes on the way to the lake were dismantled and removed.

The Russian authorities began to draw water from the reservoir of the former Inkerman quarry at the end of November 2020. The water intake worked for about a month, less than the expected period.

In early December, the Sevastopol authorities reported that some 80,000 cubic meters of water had been extracted from the lake in one week. Previously it was reported on the intention to remove a million cubic meters from the lake.

Earlier it was reported that during the year, the water reserves in Crimea were reduced almost three times. In just one month, water reserves decreased by 5,364 million cubic meters, and in one year, by more than 61 million.

In December, Russian President Vladimir Putin said there is enough fresh water in Crimea. After that, the so-called Crimean authorities announced that they would resolve the water supply situation until 2024.
