New Turkish tests for coronavirus during preclinical studies have shown 99 percent effectiveness.
Turkish scientists have invented the Diagnovir coronavirus test system, which can detect the virus in 10 seconds. This was reported by the press service of Bilkent University.
The test is done with a swab from your mouth. The selected sample is mixed with a special solution and applied to the pathogen detection chip. If a special biosensor device detects a pathogen, the test changes color, indicating the presence of a virus in the sample.
Among the main advantages of these tests is the absence of the need for swabs from the deep regions of the throat and nose.
“The system has shown 99% success in detecting viruses in preclinical studies. We are sure that this system will be widely used in our country and in the world as a fast and reliable method to detect viruses”, says the message.
The researchers note that although this test is specifically designed to detect coronaviruses, it will be possible to detect other viruses in the future.
Mass production of these tests is expected to begin in two months.
