In recent weeks, the number of COVID-19 patients has been declining in Ukraine and the number of recovered is growing. This was reported to President Volodymyr Zelensky in the traditional conference call, chaired by him.

According to Zelensky, Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal cited statistics according to which 22,802 people are hospitalized today, and five weeks ago there were an average of 28-29 thousand.
Health Minister Maxim Stepanov reported that there is a decrease in the incidence of pneumonia. During the past week, 19.5 thousand cases were registered, while, for example, from November 9 to 15, almost 39 thousand. At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Health fears that there is a possibility that the number of coronavirus infections will increase after the New Year holidays. In addition, the seasonal incidence of influenza is very likely to increase.

Officials reported that 50,409 hospital beds have been equipped with oxygen supply in Ukraine. Almost 35,000 oxygen beds are now available. In total, there are almost 66,000 beds in the country for coronavirus patients.
In addition, Zelensky was informed that in the near future the Cabinet of Ministers will adopt a decree that will accelerate payments to the families of medical workers who died during the response to COVID-19.
The head of state also proposed to speed up the creation of a registry of vaccinated people.
National Police Chief Igor Klimenko said that for violation of the mask regime during the New Year holidays, law enforcement officers made 6,500 complaints.
