The Belarusian nuclear power plant launched only one power unit, the second, in 2022
Several companies decided to import electricity from Belarus after the lifting of the ban introduced in the spring.
Ukraine began buying electricity from the Belarusian nuclear power plant, according to Ukrenergo data on Monday, January 4.
So, in January, Ukrainian companies imported 150 MWh. In particular, the purchases were made by the companies DE Trading LLC (Donbassenergo) and Dniprostal-energo LLC (Victor Pinchuk’s Interpipe).
According to ExPro, ERU Trading and Energy Trade Group also plans to import from Belarus in January.
It should be noted that in December NEURC removed restrictions on the import of electricity from Russia and Belarus, introduced in the spring of 2020.
As you know, the Belarus nuclear power plant started operation only at the end of 2020. The Baltic countries decided to boycott it.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s nuclear power plants are operating at only two-thirds of their capacity.
