In Antarctica, near the Ukrainian station “Akademik Vernadsky”, a glacier broke. Our polar explorers say there has never been a division of this magnitude in their memory.
The problem was in the Woozle Hill Glacier, according to the Facebook page of the National Center for Antarctic Sciences. Scientists posted before and after photos and showed in the photo where the fault occurred.
Also, the height of the breaking part of the glacier is equal to a seven-story building.
“Experienced polar explorers say that this is the first time such a scale rupture has occurred in this area. The height of the part of the rupture is about 20 meters, it is almost like a 7-story building. The width is about 5 meters, “says the message.

Polar explorers also added that the rift at the site of the split formed a long time ago.
“Our scientists constantly observed the glacier. The study of natural ice in Antarctica is one of the constant research directions of Ukrainian polar explorers. Scientists observe how glaciers change: they melt or, conversely, grow, how much how fast it happens, how cracks form, where ice moves and the like, “added the scientists.
Previously we wrote that in Antarctica we saw the miracle of the birth of Saint Nicholas. Brilliant photos have appeared.
