In the Poltava region, near the city of Lubny, protesters completely blocked traffic on the Kiev-Kharkov international highway.

Previously, local consumers received bills for natural gas distribution services for January 2021. They not only indicated the duplicate rates for fuel distribution, but also added extra amounts, reporters report.
So those who heat their homes with gas were charged an additional 299 cubic meters. Taking into account the new tariff of 2.94 UAH per cubic meter of transport, another 879 UAH has to be paid annually.
Because of this, people have already carried out massive protest actions, near the buildings of Lubnygaz, the regional state administration, the Lubny city hall, Piryatyn and Grebenka.
The protests were commented on by former People’s deputy Igor Mosiychuk on social media.
“With new protests, friends!
Right now, my compatriots from the city of Lubny and the surrounding villages of the Poltava region are massively blocking the Kiev-Kharkov highway, protesting against Lubnygaz’s arbitrariness and draconian gas transportation tariffs.
The people demand the cancellation of the tariffs illegally established by NEURC and the return of the gas transmission networks in the Lubenskaya OTO territory for the use of PJSC “Lubnygaz” at the disposal of the community! “- he wrote on Telegram.
The gas subscription rate for Ukrainians was changed as of January 1, 2021. In addition to the size itself, the number of cubic meters you have to pay for has also changed.
So the subscription fee is calculated based on the volume of gas used during the year (the period from October to October of last year). If in 2020 the blue fuel was taken into account, which burned from October 2018 to October 2019, now it will be necessary to pay in figures from October 2019 to October 2020.
The total number of cubic meters for this period is divided by 12. The resulting figure is multiplied by the rate (each regional gas company has its own). The subscription fee must be paid monthly, regardless of whether you use gas or not.
According to experts, blue fuel in our country will rise in price until February 2021.
Earlier, OBOZREVATEL announced that storage facilities in Ukraine were filled with record gas reserves in 10 years. Despite this, in January gas rates increased for all suppliers, Naftogaz increased prices by 14% to 7.22 UAH / cu. meter.
