A 30-year-old resident of Mukachevo, Transcarpathian region, who received a heart transplant in Lviv in late December, died.
According to his wife Victoria on Facebook, her husband was in serious condition for the last week.
“My husband is still in intensive care. A very serious condition. The kidneys do not want to work, they are on dialysis constantly, and today our new heart has stopped. The doctors managed to start it, but they cannot say anything,” said the December 28th.
Already on January 3, the woman reported that her husband had left.
As a reminder, the heart transplant operation was carried out successfully in the Lviv emergency hospital. The organ transplant was performed by the head of the heart surgery and transplantation department of the hospital’s Heart and Vascular Center, Roman Domashich.
A 42-year-old woman from Lviv became a donor. After the woman’s brain died, her mother, husband, and son agreed to donate. Therefore, a 30-year-old man from Mukachevo received a new organ. His own heart was in critical condition after pneumonia. Stopped 6 times in the past year.
