Today in Kharkov we say goodbye to the prosecutor Yevgeny Kotenko, who died under strange circumstances on the night of January 1.
Most recently, he served as head of the Citizen Appeals Department of the Attorney General’s Office.

As “Strana” already wrote, Kotenko’s body was found on the night of January 1 near the territory of the Brech eco-hotel in the Chernihiv region.
This is a well-known and popular vacation spot among the people of Kiev. There you can live in houses stylized for different countries: Chinese huts, pagodas, alpine houses and others.
According to the video recordings of the surveillance cameras, during the New Year’s celebrations, for some reason, Yevgeny Kotenko left the hotel building, went to the forest plantation, and then after a while came back and began to take off. the clothes.
According to the preliminary conclusion of doctors, death could occur from hypothermia (the body was without outer clothing).
Why he did it, now law enforcement officials are trying to find out. It is also known that his wife Yulia, who also works at the Attorney General’s Office in the personnel department, was resting with him at the hotel.
As a result of the initial inspection of the scene and the body of the prints, indicating a violent death, law enforcement officers did not find.
However, criminal proceedings, according to our sources in the Interior Ministry, are still open under Part 1 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – Premeditated murder.
This, according to our interlocutors, in such cases is standard procedure: when the absence of a criminal act is fully confirmed, the case will be closed in accordance with paragraph 1 of part 1 of article 284 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Now they are questioning witnesses who were resting with the prosecutor at the hotel, questioning the staff.
Who is Kotenko?
During Yuriy Lutsenko’s time as the General Prosecutor’s Office, Yevgeniy Kotenko worked as a deputy head of the department to ensure the activities of the military prosecutors of the Main Military Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine and was assistant to the chief military prosecutor Anatoly Matios.
