Ukrainians bought 3% fewer cars in one year than in 2019

At the same time, in December, Ukrainians bought and registered a record number of new passenger cars for 2020 – 9,801 units. Compared to 2019, the December market grew 7%.
“Compared to other European markets, the drop in car sales in Ukraine does not seem so dramatic,” he said.
The reason for this, according to them, was the extremely low consumer activity in the new car market even before the COVID-19 pandemic, caused by both a drop in the purchasing power of the population focused on the economy car segment. , as well as the policy of liberalization of used car imports.
At the end of 2020, RENAULT won the first place in the brand ranking in the new passenger car market – 14,360 cars. The most popular model of this French brand was the Renault Duster – 5534 registrations in twelve months.
Remember that in Ukraine, government agencies bought a car in 2020 for 1.5 billion UAH. Most of the vehicles were bought by the structures of the Interior Ministry – 748 vehicles for 369 million UAH. In general, it was spent both on all cars for the state and on fans.
In addition, the Finance Ministry said it is holding back trade with the EU. The growth of trade with the European Union is hampered by problems with international permits for road transport.
