On the Kiev-Chop highway in the Lviv region, BMW flew into a Mercedes Sprinter with people in the cabin. As a result of the accident, the driver of the car and eight passengers of the minibus, including minors, were injured.
The accident occurred on January 2 around 23:00 near Davidov village, Pustomyty district. The communication department of the Lviv region police reports on this, and the publication “Varta Lviv” published a photo of the scene. (scroll the news to the end to see it).
According to law enforcement officers, a 26-year-old local resident at VMW lost control, got into oncoming traffic and collided with a minibus. A 36-year-old Lutsk resident was driving the Mercedes Sprinter.
After the accident, eight passengers on the minibus, residents of Volyn, called for medical help. Four of them are under 17, one is 18, two is 20 and one is 52.
The ambulance doctors hospitalized a 17-year-old girl, the rest of the passengers were discharged home after providing assistance. The driver of the car was also hospitalized with injuries.
On the fact of the accident, the investigators of the Pustomytovsky police department, under the procedural leadership of the third Lviv local prosecutor’s office, opened a criminal proceeding under Part 1 of art. 286 (Violation of road safety regulations by people who drive vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is the restriction of freedom for up to three years with the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
While the pre-trial investigation is taking place, the police establish the circumstances of the accident.
