“We were ahead of our time and were the first country to report cases to the world. More and more studies show that the pandemic was likely caused by isolated outbreaks in multiple locations around the world. When China was struck by an unknown coronavirus, we took immediate action to carrying out research, pathogen detection and disclosure of key information, including the sequencing of the virus genome. All this alarmed the whole world, “said Wang Yi.
China’s foreign minister noted that his government has introduced the strictest infection control measures and was able to quickly control its spread. At the same time, he added, they managed to resume normal economic and social activities in the country.
