India’s drug regulator approved the COVAXIN coronavirus vaccine developed by local company Bharat Biotech and the Medical Research Council on January 2. It is the second anti-COVID drug approved in the country.

Reported by Reuters.

The government said the vaccine has been approved for limited emergency use in a clinical trial regimen. Cases of infection with a mutated coronavirus are also mentioned to test this drug on them.

On Friday, the Indian regulator approved the development of the British Astrazeneca vaccine for use. It is not yet known how soon the vaccination campaign with this sample will begin in the country.

Pfizer’s vaccine, which is already in use in the US, UK and the European Union, is also being considered.

Today it became known that the Russian vaccine against coronavirus “Sputnik V” has no chance of obtaining permission in Ukraine. The third phase of its tests is far from over.
