The citizens were captured by Libya a couple of weeks ago. How they were captured is unknown. Now they are sent by plane to the territory of the Russian Federation.

A Ukrainian citizen and three Russians kidnapped in Libya a few weeks ago were released from captivity. They are flown to Russia, Interfax writes on Saturday, January 2, citing a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Alexander Malkevich.

“A plane with a group of our people freed from Libyan captivity has just left for Russia,” Malkevich said.

He added that the circumstances in which the citizens were captured are being investigated.

Earlier we wrote that the Ukrainian soldier was returned from captivity. He disappeared on December 17.

We add that the Ukrainian political prisoner Alexander Shumkov returned from the Russian Federation. He was detained in the colony for more than three years. Shumkov was kidnapped by the Russian special services.
