Turkey will never recognize the occupied Crimea as Russian and wants to return it to Ukraine.

Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stated this, writes The Eurasian Times. At the same time, he noted that relations between Ankara and Moscow are “developing positively.”

“We have confirmed in Sochi that our position on the peninsula will not change,” he said.

Earlier, Turkey’s foreign minister said his country “wants to support the return of Crimea to Ukraine.”

Before that, Cavusoglu met with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, the newspaper writes.

According to Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Russian president, the Crimean problem is “one of the serious differences” between Ankara and Moscow.

Recall that since January 1, 2021, Turkey has led the NATO rapid reaction forces: they were created in 2015 after the occupation of Crimea by the Russian Federation.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL announced that as of January 1, Sweden became the chair of the OSCE for a period of one year. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of this country, Ann Linde, said that Ukraine will be among the priorities of the organization, recalling the Donbass and Crimea.
