Ukraine’s patrol police summarized the results of the first day of the New Year, 2021, reporting, in particular, that 267 drunk drivers were caught on the country’s roads.

The press service of the department writes about this on its Facebook page. In all, 1,577 law enforcement teams worked on the streets of the settlements that day.

“7294 calls were received from our citizens on the special line 102. The patrolmen made 267 administrative materials for drivers for driving with signs of intoxication,” says the message.

“While you rest, we are on guard for law and order and your peace of mind. Don’t forget, order is you!” – prominent law enforcement officers.

Also on January 1, the traditional annual march for Stepan Bandera’s birthday took place in Kiev. It started from the Taras Shevchenko Park with the participation of more than a thousand people.

The Metropolitan Police indicated that patrolling of the area where the rally took place has intensified. Before it began, explosives and dog handlers scoured the territory for suspicious things or packages. Law enforcement officers accompanied the convoy during the march.

OBOZREVATEL previously reported that in the village of Maryana Roshcha, Petropavlovsk district of the Dnepropetrovsk region, on New Year’s Eve, a passenger car flew off the bridge, resulting in the death of a 2-year-old boy.

The press service of the GU DSNS of Ukraine in the Dnepropetrovsk region noted that the driver of the VAZ 2101 lost control and allowed the car to roll over into the Samara River.
