In France, police officers tried unsuccessfully for more than a day to stop a banned New Year’s rave party. However, people got tired and started going home, and the police issued more than 1,200 tickets for violating the quarantine regime.
According to BFMTV, the party started on December 31 in a hangar in Lieron and immediately became one of the main news for local media.
Despite the ban on mass festivities and curfews, more than 2.5 thousand “party-goers” gathered in the hangar not only among local residents, but also from other regions of France and even abroad, in particularly from Italy, Spain, Belgium and Great Britain. …
The first dispersal of the match ended in nothing. The visitors turned away the gendarmes and set one of their vehicles on fire.
According to the police, the security forces did not resort to harsh measures so as not to provoke a crush and to prevent possible victims.
