Employees of the State Service for Emergency Situations liquidated a fire in an electric train at the railway station in the city of Radivilov. There were 228 passengers and 26 drivers on the train, they were evacuated.
On the morning of January 2, at the Radivilov train station in the Rivne region, an electric train on the Nikolaev – Ivano-Frankivsk – Rakhiv route caught fire while driving. The press center of the State Emergency Service announced it on Facebook.
Rescuers found that the fire occurred in the body of the second section in the area of the engine-compressor of the gearbox in the middle of the body of the locomotive. They quickly extinguished the fire and supplied a barrel of water to cool the motor-compressor. The fire was prevented, the message read.
The electric train consists of 12 wagons with 228 passengers and 26 drivers. All the passengers were evacuated by police officers together with railroad employees.
Law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of the incident. There are no injuries or injuries among the passengers and staff of the electric train.
