A passenger train caught fire in the Rivne region

Rescue teams evacuated 228 passengers and extinguished the fire. There are no injuries or injuries.

At the station in the Rivne region, on Saturday morning, January 2, an electric train with the message Nikolaev-Ivano-Frankovsk-Rakhov caught fire. This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service in the region.

“On January 2, at 10:40 am, a message was received on the special line 101 that an electric train caught fire during the movement with the message Nikolaev-Ivano-Frankovsk-Rakhiv at the city’s train station from Radivilov. The service department of the soldiers of the 7th state fire and rescue unit of the State Administration was sent to the place of the call. State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Rivne region “, – says the message.

It is noted that the fire occurred in the area of ​​the gearbox motor compressor in the middle of the locomotive body.

Rescuers extinguished the fire with the help of fire extinguishers. The fire was prevented. There are no injuries or injuries among the passengers and staff of the electric train.

The electric train consisted of 12 wagons, in which 228 passengers and 26 drivers were traveling. All the passengers were evacuated by police officers together with railroad employees.

Now the circumstances of the emergency are being established.

As a reminder, in late November, a Kovel-Zabolotye diesel train caught fire in Volyn. The fire started at the “head” of the train, probably due to a short circuit in the network.

It was previously reported that in the US state of Texas, in the city of Morisville, a 25-car freight train, including those with petroleum products, was derailed.
