Meteorologists predicted the weather in January
Temperatures in the first month of the year are expected to be several degrees above the long-term average.
In Ukraine, the monthly average temperature in January is expected to be in the range of 0 to 4 degrees below zero, in the southern part in places of 1 to 3 degrees, which is 2 to 2.5 degrees higher than the values long-term average. The corresponding forecast is published on the website of the Ukrhydrometeorological Center.
Meteorologists predict that the monthly amount of precipitation is expected in the region of 27-58 mm, in the Carpathians in places up to 75 mm, in the Crimean mountains up to 122 mm, which is within the long-term average values.
Long-term observational data indicate that in January the average monthly air temperature in Ukraine is 1 to 6 degrees below zero, in the eastern regions, Sumy and Chernihiv, in some places in the Poltava region and in the Carpathians , 7 to 8 degrees below zero.
The absolute minimum air temperature is 23-37 degrees of frost, in the Carpathians, in some areas of the Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Kiev and Sumy regions 38-39.8 degrees of frost, in the Cherkasy and Lugansk regions in some places 40-42 degrees of frost, on the Crimean coast 13- 22 degrees below zero.
The absolute maximum temperature is 7-14 degrees Celsius, in the Carpathian region, in the southern regions – Dnepropetrovsk and Kirovograd up to 15-18 degrees, in the Crimea up to 21 degrees Celsius.
Average monthly rainfall is 27-56 mm, in Transcarpathia and the Carpathians up to 57-155 mm.
At the same time, ice is observed on average from 1 to 7 days per month, blizzards are most often observed on the left bank of the country and in the Carpathian region.
It was previously reported that a record warm night was recorded in Kiev, when the air temperature did not drop below 4.5 degrees.
