Russian actor Vladimir Korenev, who played the main role in the famous movie “Amphibian man”, has died.
The artist’s death was reported to Interfax by his daughter Irina Koreneva. The cause of Korenev’s death was the coronavirus.
As it turned out, before his death, the actor was in the hospital with COVID-19. Korenev was 80 years old.
Recall that Vladimir Korenev was born on June 20, 1940 in Sevastopol. Even in his school years, the future artist went to a theater circle, where he was taken by his classmate. After graduating from school, Korenev chose the acting profession and in 1957 he entered GITIS at the RSFSR People’s Artist Grigory Konsky’s workshop.
It is worth noting that Korenev gained great popularity not only thanks to the film “Amphibian man”, but also such films as: “The light of a distant star”, “The road to hell”, “Children of Don Quixote”, “Children of the homeland” and others.
Since 1961, Korenev performed in the company of the Moscow Stanislavsky Dramatic Theater. Until 2015, he directed the Faculty of Theater Arts of the Institute of Education in Humanities and Information Technology.
