In Israel, one million people have already received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. One tenth of the population was vaccinated in the country.
Reports from The Times of Israel.
On Friday, January 1, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited a vaccination center in the city of Umm al-Fahm and was present at the vaccination of the country’s millionth citizen.
Israel became the first country in the world where 10% of the country’s population received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. It is observed that Arab residents, who make up 20% of the population, are not as willing to be vaccinated.
In this regard, Netanyahu has planned a series of visits to the places of residence of Arab communities, including the city of Umm al-Fahm. He has not visited these places for several years and the visits are also supposed to be related to the parliamentary elections in March this year.
It was previously reported that Israel will receive the Modern coronavirus vaccine next week. One million doses will be delivered.
Note that on December 27 in Israel the third shutdown since the beginning of the pandemic came into effect. The strict quarantine measures will last at least two weeks.
