Teachers’ salaries have been raised
Teachers’ salaries will increase by 20% from January and another 8.4% from December. The education budget grew by 26.6 billion UAH.
Since January 1, 2021, the salary of teachers has increased by 20%, reports the Ministry of Education.
The ministry recalled that the state budget for 2021 foresees spending on education of 139.5 billion UAH, which is 26.6 billion UAH more than in 2020.
Basically, these are funds to increase wages from January 1 by 20% and from December 1, 2021 by 8.4%.
The salary of a young teacher without category and work experience increased to 4,859 UAH, a teacher of the 1st category – up to 6,661 UAH, and a teacher of the highest category of an institution of general secondary education – up to 6,461 UAH.
The ministry also noted that of the total spending on education, the grants amount to 103.7 billion UAH, which is 20.1 billion UAH more than last year.
The public spending of the Ministry of Education and Science for 2021 amounts to 35.8 billion UAH, which is 6.5 billion UAH more than in 2020.
Note that in November, the average salary in Ukraine amounted to 11,987 hryvnia, which is 187 less than a month earlier.
Recall that the Ukrainians have appointed an acceptable salary. The average salary is around 20 thousand hryvnia per month, which is 1.7 times more than the average salary recorded by the State Statistics Service.
