The State Emergency Service reported the death toll from fires on New Year’s Eve

During the last day, 84 fire cases occurred in the residential sector of Ukraine. GSChS urges citizens to take care of the fire safety of their homes.

In Ukraine, on the last day of 2020 and on New Year’s Eve, 9 people died in fires. Reports from the press service of the State Emergency Service.

“On the last day of 2020 and on New Year’s Eve, 9 citizens died in fires. Overall, firefighters from the State Emergency Service recorded 84 cases of fires during the last day in the residential sector of the country,” said the release.

The State Emergency Service asked the Ukrainians to take care of the fire condition of their homes and recalled the safety rules.

Earlier it was reported that in Nikolaev fireworks hit the balcony of a high-rise building, the fire spread to the next apartment on the floor below.

Furthermore, on December 31, in the center of Kiev, near the Kiev City State Administration building, a gas cylinder caught fire at the protesters.
