Quarantine in Ukraine: American Chamber of Commerce urged to reconsider conditions

The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (AmCham) has asked the state government to review the quarantine conditions, which should be in effect from January 8 to 24. In fact, according to current regulations, it will be forbidden to sell a significant part of household goods even in supermarkets.

This is stated in a statement from the American Chamber of Commerce.

The department notes that, according to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, during the January quarantine period, the trade of any merchandise is prohibited throughout Ukraine, except food, drugs and medical products, hygiene and communication products, as well as feed, veterinary drugs, seeds, products. protection plan.

At the same time, any other product can be ordered only with specific delivery.

AmCham draws attention to the fact that it is not just about the complete closure of specialty stores. As of January 8, even in supermarkets, it will be prohibited to sell a significant part of everyday goods: chemicals and tools for the home, clothes, newspapers, light bulbs, batteries, children’s study products. “, – said in a statement.

The association proposes not to block buyers’ access to other goods during the quarantine, as provided by the current decree.

The chamber addressed the government with appropriate proposals throughout December, but to no avail.

We will recall, the Cabinet has extended the quarantine in Ukraine until the end of winter. It will be valid until February 28, 2021.

At the same time, from January 8, Ukraine will have a stricter quarantine.
