President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukrainians will be able to save up to 40% on gas payments by choosing a state supplier.
State-owned companies, in particular NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, should help the population to save money on bills. The head of state announced this during a working trip to the Ivano-Frankivsk region, reports the Office of the President.
“State enterprises are necessary to work for the benefit of society, to create profitable opportunities for ordinary people. Naftogaz must clearly show the Ukrainians how the company will provide gas at a cheaper price,” Zelensky said.
The president stressed that he had already discussed the issue of prices for the population with the president of the board of “Naftogaz”, Andrey Kobolev. In particular, the cost of NJSC gas in January 2021 is 7.22 UAH / cubic meter. m, while in regional gas sales on average – 9.9 UAH / cu. meter.
“Private providers in different regions of Ukraine sometimes set the price of gas for the population 30% to 40% higher than Naftogaz.” We even found a company that offers a 50% higher price than NAK. Naftogaz will offer the lowest prices on the market. And it will fight to lower the price, despite the market. We have COVID-19 and people need help, “Zelensky summarized.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Ukraine approved an increase in tariffs for natural gas distribution as of January 1, 2021. As a result, prices will rise by 80% on average.
As of January 1, 2021, Naftogaz will stop connecting its customers with the annual fee. All those who managed to use this service will continue to receive blue fuel at a fixed price. The rest will be able to use only the monthly rate.
