Experts from the Central Geophysical Observatory Boris Sreznevsky reported the New Year’s anomaly on their Facebook page. They refer to data from your stations.
It is specified that the temperature in the Ukrainian capital at night did not fall below +4.5 degrees.
The previous record value of +3 degrees was observed in 2003. As noted by the observatory staff, this figure was exceeded by 1.5 degrees at a time.
Recall that the United Kingdom Met Office predicted that the next 2021 will be colder than previous years, but it will still be among the six warmest on Earth in the entire history of observations.
