Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has banned Russian courts from walking the rivers of Ukraine. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the office of the head of state.

Zelensky signed the law “On the transport of internal waters”, which regulates relations in the field of maritime transport on the territory of Ukraine. The document prohibits “ships that fly the flag of the aggressor state” from navigating the country’s rivers. It should be noted that this law aims to implement the basic requirements of the Association Agreement with the European Union (EU).

Earlier, Zelensky assessed the possibility of a full-scale war with Russia and outlined the scenario of how such a conflict would unfold. Hopefully this is impossible. Otherwise, there will be a great war. We will not go anywhere, we will all fight, everyone will mobilize: men and women. It will be bad for the Ukrainian population. And I think Russia understands it very well, ”said the President of Ukraine.

In 2014, Crimea became part of Russia following a referendum on the peninsula, during which a majority of local residents supported this decision. That same year, part of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions declared their independence from Ukraine. Kiev tried to return Donbass by force, but to no avail.

The Ukrainian authorities believe that Russia has occupied Crimea and areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions outside of its control. Moscow rejects the claim.
