Zelensky’s rating is gradually decreasing

If the presidential elections were held at the end of December 2020, 53.3% of those surveyed would definitely participate, another 19.7% would prefer to vote in the elections. The highest rating is held by current President Vladimir Zelensky.

This is evidenced by the data from the KIIS survey.

Respondents were shown two possible lists of presidential candidates, and the respondent must choose an answer for each list.

List A

Table 2 below shows the results for list A. If these candidates had run for president, Zelensky would have received the most support (27% of the respondents who made their choice are willing to support him).

The second or third place is shared by Yuriy Boyko (14.7%) and Petro Poroshenko (13.7%). They are followed by Viktor Medvedchuk (8.7%), Yulia Tymoshenko (7.5%), Oleg Lyashko (6.3%), Vladimir Groisman (5.5%), Sergey Pritula (4.1%), Dmitry Razumkov ( 3.4%). Other candidates have less support.

List B

In list B, compared to list A, Medvedchuk and Razumkov are absent, but Igor Smeshko is present. Table 3 shows the results of this list. In this case, Zelensky also has the highest support, which would be supported by 27.7% of the respondents who made their choice. In second place is Boyko (20.8%), in third place is Poroshenko (14.2%). They are followed by Tymoshenko (7.3%), Smeshko (6.5%), Lyashko (6.2%), Groisman (6%), Pritula (3.8%). Other candidates have less support.

The Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) was held from December 17 to 23, 2020 throughout Ukraine, except for the Russian-occupied territories. 1200 respondents were interviewed by the method of personal interviews using tablets (CAPI). The statistical sampling error (with a probability of 0.95 and without taking into account the effect of the design) does not exceed: 2.9% for indicators close to 50%, 2.5% – for indicators close to 25%, 1 , 9% – for indicators close to 12%, 1.3% – for indicators close to 5%.

Recall, according to a survey by the Rating group, if the presidential elections were held in mid-December 2020, Volodymyr Zelensky would receive the most votes. The incumbent president will have the support of 26.5% of those who intend to vote and have made their choice.
