The Union of Writers of Ukraine will not publish authors from Russia, Belarus and Armenia.

It was also decided to stop the practice of carrying out joint actions, for example, creative evenings, “round tables”, conferences.

The National Union of Writers of Ukraine decided to stop publishing authors from those countries that opposed the territorial integrity of Ukraine at the UN and other international organizations. Those countries include Russia, Armenia, Belarus and 14 other states. the corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the Secretariat of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine. This was announced on Tuesday, December 29, by the press service of the organization in the “Literary Gazette of Ukraine”.

It was also decided to stop the practice of carrying out joint actions (creative evenings, round tables, conferences, etc.) with the diplomatic missions of the countries indicated in the annex, and not to allow the participation of members of the NSPU in any literary and artistic event. initiated by representatives of the countries that support the Russian aggression against Ukraine, “the organization stressed.

At the same time, the organization noted that the works of already dead classics may become an exception to the new rule. Furthermore, contemporary writers from these countries who “publicly support the territorial integrity of Ukraine and condemn the aggression of the Russian Federation” will be able to publish their works.

The sanctions list also includes: Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Iran, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, DPRK, Cuba, Laos, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Serbia, Syria, and Sudan.

The NSPU intends to familiarize the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of the State Television and Radio Committee, the Institute of Books of Ukraine, the Institute of Ukraine under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, as well as the Publishers Association and Book Distributors of Ukraine with this resolution.
