As of January 1, 2021, the decision to cancel the preferential rate of 100 kWh takes effect.

The corresponding decision was made by the Cabinet in a meeting today, December 28. So instead of the usual 90 kopecks for 1 kWh, Ukrainians will have to 1.68 hryvnia for 1 kWh, regardless of consumption. Therefore, the electricity room almost doubles.

In the future, the decree must be revised, in addition, it is necessary to establish mechanisms that allow the cost of public services to be determined in the future.

According to act. Minister of Energy Yuriy Vitrenko, the new tariffs will operate at least until March 31, 2021. According to him, this decision was made, in particular, to avoid an increase in the cost of electricity from January.

Gas rates will also go up next year. As previously reported by Vgorode, from the beginning of the year, the price of gas will increase by about 14% and will amount to 7.22 hryvnia per cubic meter at the “monthly” rate. The increase is associated with an increase in gas consumption by the population and an increase in its wholesale price.

In addition, mobile communications will go up in price in Ukraine. The country’s three main cellular operators, Kyivstar, Vodafone and Lifecell, announced changes in the terms of rate plans. The rise in the price of mobile services is associated with inflation and the growth of the dollar.
