Ukraine still awaits Iran’s report on plane crash
The Ukrainian side did not receive a draft technical report on the plane crash from the UIA, stressed the Foreign Ministry.
Ukrainian media reported on the alleged transfer of the Iranian report to Ukraine and other states involved in the investigation of the UIA passenger plane downed in the sky over Tehran, as there was a small misunderstanding: a video conference on the technical side of the case was taken as a report.
This was stated by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Yevgeniy Yenin, in an interview with BBC News, published on Monday, December 28.
“The Ukrainian side has not received a draft technical report prepared by Iran. It promises to do so by the end of this year. We have been listening to these promises for two months,” the deputy minister confirmed in the previous statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Yenin specified that the final report should answer the question about the technical service capacity of the aircraft, the accuracy of the actions of the pilots, the interaction of Iranian civilian specialists from Tehran airport and the military responsible for air defense, and the like.
Only after that, added the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, can we talk about compensation and bring those responsible to justice.
“Unfortunately, we are forced to manifest the lack of trust in our states’ relations. We offered Iran the creation of a joint investigation group. We insist on joint investigation actions with the participation of Ukrainian and Iranian investigators and prosecutors. Until now, the promises they made have remained on paper, “Yenin said. …
As reported, the Iranian side continues to claim that it has broadcast the final report on the UIA plane crash, namely an online video report, to Ukraine and other countries.
