Russia won the 2020 Christmas Race, Ukraine failed in the final

On Monday, December 28, a chase race was held in Ruhpolding, Germany, as part of the traditional Christmas race.

The victory was won by the Russian team represented by Evgenia Pavlova and Matvey Eliseev, who also won the massive start. For a long time, the Germans Franziska Preuss and Simon Schempp tried to compete with them, but Schempp won three penalty circles on the sixth shot, leaving his team content with second place.

But in the fight for third place, a real battle turned out, the winner in which had to be determined with the help of a finishing photo. German Benedict Doll at the finish line managed to launch his boot forward in time and crossed the finish line a moment before Italian Lucas Hofer.

Ukrainians Vita Semerenko and Dmitry Pidruchny, after starting from fifth position, reached the finish line in penultimate place, ahead of Swedish reservists Elizabeth Hogberg and Thorstein Stenersen. For two, our biathletes missed seven targets at eight shooting ranges.
