Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) introduced a bill that wants to allow Ukrainians to keep small arms at home.

We are talking about those citizens who are involved in the territorial defense units. This was stated in a press conference on December 28 by the undersecretary of the Security and National Defense Council, Sergei Krivonos, reports PavlovskyNews.

It should be noted that Bill No. The relevant 4504 has already been discussed in the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada and in representatives of law enforcement agencies. And it is supposedly based on the need for an effective response to external threats.

According to the document, in Ukraine any citizen can become a member of the territorial defense to protect his town or city from the enemy. On weekends, they are encouraged to “receive training and on weekdays to participate in civil affairs.”

In addition, members of the territorial defense are invited to issue around 80 thousand units of small arms for the maintenance of the house. NSDC spokesman Krivonos sees no threat in this, “given that the population already has more than a million weapons.”

It is known that they want to present bill No. 4504 to parliament in February or March 2021.
