Ukraine will continue to borrow

Ukraine will not reject loans from international financial institutions, said the central bank director.

Ukraine is not aiming to abandon credit relations with the IMF or other international financial institutions. He said this in an interview with Economic Truth, said the head of the National Bank Kirill Shevchenko.

Earlier, the Ministry of Finance declared that cooperation with the IMF could end in the next few years.

However, Shevchenko pointed out that “it is not a question of giving up relations with the IMF just yet.”

He noted that when choosing a lender, “you choose the most favorable terms for yourself.” Business reliability, like good corporate governance, allows a corporation to be “selective.”

“The same principle of relations with international creditors. The better the management in Ukraine, the public administration, I am not saying, the better the country works, the better its performance, the more possibilities there are to choose between creditors. Here I will say that we are with Mr. Marchenko We are on the same side, we are both interested in the fact that both in fiscal and monetary direction Ukraine remains a stable country.

Recall that last week, IMF representatives negotiated remotely with the Ukrainian authorities for three days, and they will continue into the new year.
